Many are unsure of what happens when you click the “Get Proxies” button in Proxy Multiply.

If your list of proxies is empty (0 proxies in it), Proxy Multiply will scrape proxies from the list of ‘Proxy Fetching URLs’ found in the Configuration window. The program will work its way through the list of URLs one at a time. When it is finished, the status window will indicate how many proxies it harvested from the URLs.

If your proxy list already contains proxies, Proxy Multiply will begin utilizing its unique search mechanism to find proxies on Google, Bing and Yahoo. It will search the websites using your existing proxy list as a search criteria. For example, when you go to Google and type in ‘red car’, you find more red cars. When Proxy Multiply searches for a proxy (58.221.227.38:3128 for example), it will find more pages with other proxies on them. See the example pic below:

After finding more pages containing proxies, Proxy Multiply will crawl the pages and extract the proxies. You can do this by hand and find just as many proxies as Proxy Multiply does, but the program cuts down on the time required to do so considerably while still producing a very large quantity of proxies.

With Proxy Multiply’s unique search methods, you will always have a source of fresh, updated proxies.

Updates

First, the most recent documented updates from Proxy Multiply:

1.0.0.41
——-
- Code maintenance.

1.0.0.40
——-
- HTTP proxies will now test properly as high anonymous elite again.

1.0.0.39
——-
- Added support for checking HTTP proxies with IP:Port:username:password format.

1.0.0.38
——-
- Bug fix with freezing.
- Proxy checking should be more reliable now.

As noted in the updates, we now host our own proxy judge. Here is a screenshot from the application regarding the change:

Proxies have not been testing properly for the last 3-5 days and we know that our users deserve an explanation. The issue is due to Jrim Software now hosting its own proxy judge.

Unfortunately, every user of Proxy Multiply has a different technical knowledge level, and many do not even know what a proxy judge is. For that reason, relying on public proxy judges creates a handful of issues that were previously beyond our control. Often times public proxy judges are dead within 2-3 days after being set as the public judge for Proxy Multiply. We then decided it was best to host our own judge. After hosting our own judge and seeing how much traffic all Proxy Multiply users were sending to the proxy judges, it is very easy to understand why these servers were crashing or simply removing the file from the server and shutting the judge down.

Furthermore, public proxy judges will frequently report mixed results. That is to say, out of 100 requests to the judge, maybe 40-50 requests actually go through properly causing working proxies to report as dead. The lack of stability is hard to detect and results in users missing out on valuable proxies.

We have again upgraded the VPS that the judge is hosted from due to it once more buckling under pressure. To give you an idea of how well-equipped the VPS is now, we have load averages of less than 0.5 on the server, when previously load averages were reaching 100 (the load average is a measurement of the ‘load’ on the server). Now that the service has been stabilized, we do not anticipate any issues from henceforth and we are welcoming all feedback regarding the proxy judge to the support page.

A potential monthly fee…

At this time, due to the very high cost of hosting for the proxy judge, we are considering instituting an optional monthly fee for users to use our proxy judge. If users choose to not use the judge, they will be responsible for finding their own. From this moment on, the judge should have 100% uptime and ease the minds of most proxy testers, especially considering how tedious and cumbersome it can be to find another proxy judge. Please direct your opinions to the support page and let us know how you feel about the change.

The website FAQ has been updated with answers to recently frequently asked questions.

If you need to change your authorization key, you can now do that using the button from within the program that says ‘Already purchased but still seeing this?’. There is a 5 day delay between key changes.

Proxy Multiply is now more efficient than ever in finding proxies! Recent program updates:

1.0.0.37
——-
- The proxy selected as ‘Active’ will now be highlighted in the proxy list.
- Bug fix related to proxy list.

1.0.0.36
——-
- Bug fix related to URL parsing of the specific HTTP test.

1.0.0.35
——-
- Added two more search engines to the harvesting function.
- Added a feature to check HTTP proxies against a specific URL.
- The proxy list limit size is now more precise if enabled.

1.0.0.34
——-
- Proxy count bug fix.

1.0.0.33
——-
- Fixed a bug related to proxy fetching.

1.0.0.32
——-
- When sorting the proxy list, items with empty results for the sort column (e.g. no tested speed if sorting by speed) will sort to the bottom of the list automatically.
- In an effort to conserve system resources, PM now only re-sorts the list when the columns are clicked. Re-sorting the list every time new proxies are added is extremely resource intensive.
- The DELETE key now removes proxies selected in the proxy list.
- Proxy list management improvement (code efficiency). Proxy Multiply uses less memory now.

1.0.0.31
——-
- Fixed a bug involving automation file output.

Thank you for your continued support!

1.0.0.30
- Added ability to filter by country.
- Added ability to blacklist URLs from being crawled (including wildcard support!).
- Heavy program optimization. Proxy Multiply should be much less resource intensive now and operate significantly faster.
- Added a button to reload the default URL list maintained by Proxy Multiply, just in case you accidentally delete all of your URLs.

We would like to emphasize the ‘heavy optimization’ bit by stating that PM is operating much faster and smoother now. If Proxy Multiply was not the best proxy scraper available before, it certainly holds a candle to its competitors now!

Good evening everyone, and Happy Thursday!

Today brings a fantastic new update to Proxy Multiply, version 1.0.0.27. I will also outline the changes from several previous versions here because there was no post made about the other updates.

- Code maintenance.

1.0.0.26
——-
- The initial proxy fetching from your pre-configured URLs, which only occurs if your proxy list is empty, should be much faster now.
- Added hotkeys to save (CTRL+S), load proxies (CTRL+O or CTRL+I), and test all proxies (CTRL+T).
- Added ability to automatically test the proxy judge and load a new one if it is dead.

1.0.0.25
——-
- Added ability to check if proxies are Google search enabled.
- Added ability to upload the proxy list to an FTP server as part of the automation process.
- Added ability to export the proxy list as a CSV file with speed, country, etc.

1.0.0.23
——-
- The default proxy judge supplied with PM was taken offline. A new one will be configured for you if you were using the default judge.

1.0.0.22
——-
- Fixed a bug with the GeoIP file.

1.0.0.21
——-
- Small change to proxy testing code.

1.0.0.20
——-
- Pressing CTRL+C with proxies selected will now copy the proxies to the clipboard rather than requiring a right click and selecting ‘Copy’.
- A button to open the config directory was added to the help form to assist with corrupted config files.
- The ‘avoid re-testing proxies that were tested within last X minutes’ option has been relocated to the General testing screen because it applies to both HTTP and SOCKS proxy testing.
- Your auth key will now properly fill in the about window if you are a lifetime user.

1.0.0.19
——-
- Users can now ‘Like’ Proxy Multiply on Facebook for a free 7 day addition to their trial period!

1.0.0.18
——-
- If the proxy list is set to be sorted, the sort order will apply to newly added proxies as well.
- GeoIP file will now perform a check for corruption.
- URL list for proxy fetching will now perform a check for corruption.
- The Import window will no longer clear your proxy list if you didn’t import anything.
- The ‘limit proxy list’ feature is now more precise.
- The ‘View URLs for proxy fetching’ option will now work properly if a proxy list size limit is enabled.

1.0.0.17
——-
- SOCKS5 proxy testing has been fixed.
- The proxy list will now properly remove bad/dead/untested proxies if anonymity checking of HTTP proxy testing is disabled.
- Proxy leeching will now stop immediately after clicking ‘Stop’ rather than letting the remaining threads finish.

We hope you enjoy the changes!

If you have any suggestions, please post here or contact us.

We are very excited to present to you the fully automated proxy scraping and proxy testing abilities of Proxy Multiply!

In the latest version 1.0.0.16, the following changes came about:

Automation has been implemented. Proxy Multiply can now automatically maintain a proxy list of set size, update a proxy list with proxies, and e-mail a list of proxies.

The proxy list will no longer flicker.

HTTP proxy testing has been greatly improved.

The number of threads is now able to be truly set rather than allow .NET to manage the threads.

Along with many small changes and fixes!

The e-mail feature allows the program to simply be set with automation settings and left untouched, resulting in e-mails delivered directly to you with updated and tested proxy lists ready to use to stay anonymous online!

The program has been extensively tested to ensure that it is in top working order, but if we missed any bugs, please contact us.

The 1.0.0.15 update brings some notable changes to your favorite proxy tool.

The proxy scraper (the proxy search method) has been revamped to work properly again and faster. 3,000 proxies were pulled from a search on average.

The main form list of proxies has been modified to function as a virtual list. This means that the program will now handle lists much better and faster, especially lists 50,000 or larger. Previously, adding 30,000 items would take a considerable amount of time. Now it should be accomplished in seconds and with less lag.

The main form is now resizable.

If you have set a limit to the proxy list size and it is met/exceeded, you will no longer receive a large number of prompts about it.

Unfortunately, automation of proxy finding and testing did not make it into this update. The feature (and all of the smaller features it encompasses) will require heavy testing before they are ready for official deployment.

We are already considering ideas for the next version (in addition to automation) and would like more user feedback about new features. Currently on the drawing board is an ability to blacklist or filter URLs from proxy scraping (URLs gained from search results) based on keywords and blacklisting IPs. We have also considered the option of adding customization for the HTTP proxy judge. Please submit your feedback via e-mail or as a comment on this page.

As it turns out, many people on the internet do not even know what a proxy is, let alone how to effectively use one. There is nothing wrong with not knowing, but being familiar with proxies is imperative to staying safe on the internet. However, before you can fully understand using proxies (which will be covered in our next article), it is best to have some background information on what you are dealing with.

A proxy acts like a middleman between you and the resource you are seeking on the internet. It is analogous to any other sort of middle person – for example, Wal-Mart is the middleman between you and the manufacturer. Likewise, a proxy is a middle man between a website and you. It receives all of the information from the website and then passes that information to you.

But why in the world would one need a middle man for internet related things? In a retail situation (think Wal-Mart again), it makes sense: it is easier to communicate with Wal-Mart than for the manufacturer to individually seek out customers. This is in sharp contrast to the internet where you have direct access to information! Despite this difference, there is a key factor being overlooked: your identity. Without a proxy passing information on to you from the website, the website is communicating directly with you and your PC. Now that website has your information. It has your IP address.

Your IP address is in the same form as a proxy, e.g. 127.0.0.1. Four sets of numbers ranging from 0 to 255. Similar to a phone number, an IP address identifies you on the internet as a number. You would be surprised what your IP address can tell about you. There is a technology called IP Geo Targeting that uses your IP to, as the name implies, pinpoint your geographic location. View an example of Geo IP Targeting. Phone numbers have Geo Targeting abilities just like IP addresses, too. If you tried that link, you will see that your IP address has been associated with your home town and zip code. It should be starting to click in your head how websites can include your city in their advertisements – think of all the times you have seen an ad, “Local Singles Near [your city]!” or something similar.

Advertising is just one way that your IP address is used. It can also be used by websites to track exactly what you have been surfing on the web. Every website keeps a log of its visitors and a great deal of information about them, including IP (which reveals your location), web browser, your local time, how much time you spent on the website, etc. Most of that is not important to you but to keep your identity safe online, you need to use a proxy. Furthermore, hackers can use your IP address to specifically target attacks to your PC. If a hacker is dedicated and persistent, he or she can almost certainly eventually get in to your home network or your home computer, especially if your computer is already infected with some sort of malware.

Returning to the phone number metaphor mentioned earlier, you wouldn’t call random strangers from your personal phone and expose your phone number (and thus location), would you? Probably not. Staying anonymous online is a major step toward staying safe online.

When a proxy acts as the middle man between you and your target website, the website will see the IP address of the proxy instead of yours. This prevents your location from being tracked and your computer from being logged in website’s visitor records. In short, your IP address is not broadcast to the internet but rather the IP address of the proxy is. However, you will only be ‘hidden’ IF your proxy is classified as ‘anonymous’ or ‘high-anonymous elite’. These proxies do a much better job at cloaking your identity, ensuring that you are not leaving yourself and your computer vulnerable to tracking and attacks.

To protect your computer and yourself online, it is strongly recommended that you use a proxy. Download a free trial of Proxy Multiply to always have access to anonymous and high anonymous elite proxies.

The most recent version of Proxy Multiply has seen some heavy changes.

It now only uses one button to both scrape thousands of proxies from the predefined lists and to use its incredibly fast and efficient search method to produce more proxies.
It now has a running count of the total number of proxies, including the number of anonymous and high anonymous proxies.
It can now automatically delete dead proxies or proxies that do not fulfill specific anonymity requirements (e.g. proxies must be anonymous or transparent or high anonymous elite).

While we have tried hard to make Proxy Multiply feature packed, we realized there is one key concept missing: automation. In the next version of Proxy Multiply, you will be able to configure intervals (15, 30, 60, or 90 minutes) at which Proxy Multiply will automatically begin scanning for proxies or test your existing proxies.

A threshold feature is being developed that will allow the user to define that X number of anonymous proxies must be present and working at any given time (checked at the configured interval). If you set the required threshold to be 300 anonymous proxies, then at every 15, 30, 60 or 90 minutes (determined by you), Proxy Multiply will test your proxy list. If you have less than 300 anonymous proxies, PM will begin finding and testing for new proxies until your threshold is met again.

Proxies can also be automatically written to a file at the specified interval.

These features are being added as a result of customer input and we also welcome your input on improving or expanding upon these ideas.

Thank you for your continued support.
